How did you both meet?

Max & I met in college! It was the first week of my freshman year, he was a sophomore. We started as best friends for a couple of years and later it turned into more!

How did your husband propose?

He proposed to me at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City, our absolute favorite NYC classic! A table was set up at the restaurant, with beautiful flowers and also champagne. After we sat down, he proposed!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

It was definitely sophisticated and also classic minimal. There were a lot of lush greens, everything was bright and happy! Very clean lines and symmetry … Absolutely timeless!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

I loved our tables, symmetrical tables with floods of candles and greens, they were intimate but grand at the same time! The chapel we were married in was so stark white, super clean, bright and happy.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

One of my favorite design details were our tables and the tall green centerpieces. I wanted everything to be warm and intimate, but also with a grand modern feel and lush centerpieces. Our dark rattan chargers really set perfect contrast on our all white and candle tables, matching our dark wood chairs and mahogany dance floor! Tying together all the colors was really my favorite part!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Walking back down the aisle together, getting into our golf cart, popping a champagne to toast, and also having a quiet ten minutes to ourselves! Also, we stepped away at one point and stood up on the steps to watch the dance floor, with cake and champagne, and got to watch all of our family and friends having a blast!

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a lemon cake with simple white vanilla filling and outside. Lattice design on the outside, and tons of berries!

Can you please list your vendors:

Lara’s Theme Florals, KV Photgraphy, Jeffrey Stoner Video, Frostings Vero Beach, Windsor Club, Cindy Goetz Makeup ,Lindsay Naffziger Hair, Love Joy Celebrations (Kim Scarpati, INVITATIONS programs, weekend agendas, pretty much all paper goods, Lake Pajamas (bridesmaids PJs’), Sareh Nouri (dress), Lou Lou Baker (over the moon) monogrammed Bridal tote and makeupbag, Stuart Weitzman (brides shoes), Stubbs and Wooton (grooms tux slippers), Brackish Bowties (Father of the Bride Bowtie), Theia Couture Bridesmaid (Bridesmaids dresses), Mrs. Box (green velvet ring box), The Rivertown Band (East Coast Entertainment).

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Plan as far ahead as you can, and have everything set up weeks before, so you can relax and enjoy the few weeks before the wedding instead of worrying about last-minute details! Venue, Band, Photographer, Videographer, and Florist are the first things you need to book. They book fast and it is very competitive, so try to book these a year or more in advance. Later, the rest will fall into place relatively stress free!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

The sheer excitement of the day! I knew it was going to be exciting, but we both talked about it, and we were so overwhelmed by the feeling of excitement and love in the air, it was truly the happiest feeling in the whole world, and it lasted for at least a week! Also, the biggest surprise was just how perfectly everything fell into place, it felt so seamless, I never once felt out of control or panicked, all of our great vendors helped making things fall into place perfectly, I felt totally at ease!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Max’s best moment was when we walked out of the chapel doors, got onto our golf cart, and rode off as husband and wife for the first time ever! That was a winner for me too, but the other moment was sitting down with our friends at our table, so much love surrounding us!

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

Of the so many amazing moments we have seen in our sneak peek, I think those covered a lot of those moments, but we can’t wait for cake cutting, more of our first dance, more of our first kiss in the chapel, and photos of us together in the front driveway.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Here comes the Bride.

What song played for your first dance?

Beyond the Sea by Bobby Caldwell.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Everything! But mostly building our life together, raising a puppy (august!!!) building a home one day (or renovating a home), to raise our family, lots of little ones, and growing old and in love. We cannot wait to see how our lives unfold, what adventures life brings, our children, and the family and home we want to create for them!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

You guys were the sweetest, so calm, so helpful, and just such a calming professional presence the whole day. You knew where to be at that moment, seamlessly, and helped us stay calm. Not too forced, but in the right shots. I loved that you were both able to be in two places at once, Val with the girls, Ed with the guys. That made us feel so confident that everything was being captured, nothing was missed. I also loved your passion of being in a new environment, at a new venue, with so many new spots to explore with your creativity!
