How did you both meet?

Thomas and I met through mutual friends at a local bar called Sloppy Taco Palace in August 2016. I was getting out of my car and two guys were sitting outside. One of them yelled “Hey baby” at me. Startled, I walked by them and recognized my friend Joel and immediately yelled back at him “Where’s your wife?!” Thomas was sitting with him and they both laughed so hard. It was very funny and lighthearted meeting. After that, I officially met Thomas inside, and there was an immediate connection. Right then, I knew my life was going to change. And it did. Joel and his wife, Melissa are dear friends of ours and were included in the bridal party!

How did your husband propose?

Tom’s sister, brother in law and 2 nephews, who are also huge Disney fans, came down during a week in May 2018. We were park hopping throughout the day with the family and later in the evening we arrived at Epcot. Thomas and I had separated from the family and we got to this private landing right by the water where he suggested it would be a nice photo spot. Clueless, we headed down there and as we posed for the picture, Thomas got down on one knee! But I completely blacked out! He gave a beautiful speech and then asked me to marry him, but he actually kneeled for a long time because he was waiting for my answer! Even funnier, his family was able to spot him kneeling from across the park and were able to capture the moment!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

Our wedding inspiration was extracted mostly from our personalities. We are both romantics who enjoy the finer things of life. Our wedding was definitely Romantic and Elegant, and we included a lot of neutrals such as blush, gold, ivory and light greys.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

We loved working with our floral and rental vendor, Juan Carlos at RJ Glam and designing the aisle runner! It was so much fun to play with different ideas and finally be able to put it all together!

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

Some of our favorite wedding details were inspired from Pinterest. Our aisle runner, the gold vases at the aisle, the garden wall behind us and Tom’s favorite – the Hora Loca surprise entertainment at the end of the night!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Prior to the wedding, people’s biggest advice was “the day goes by so fast, take it all in.” At one point, during the reception, I stepped away from the dance floor, from the guests, from the vendors and just watched everyone. That’s when I saw my new husband dancing and singing, as well as friends dancing with their partners, and our parents laughing and drinking. When I saw that I thought to myself; how lucky I was to be able to stop and see everything, and never forget what an amazing night we had.

Please describe your cake (if any):

Our cake was made by Danielle at Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique and it was amazing! We did a 3-tiered cake with amaretto, Oreo and apple pie. People asked about the cake for days after the wedding.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Take a deep breath! Everything will be perfect. Do not stress about the little things and enjoy being engaged. Time will go by so quick!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

We were actually surprised that everything was so perfect! We were waiting for something to go wrong, but it surprised me how calm I was and how nervous Tom was. He actually cried before I even got to the aisle which really shocked me! It was all so sweet!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

One of our last-minute decisions was having a private last dance after the Reception was over and everyone was out the room. I think time stopped and we both cried so much! It was such a beautiful moment and one I will never forget.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

Our Bride & Groom photos outside with our amazing photographers! We knew of their photography magic, and when we were outside under the bridge and in the field at Bella Collina, we kept saying how amazing the photos are going to be!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Everlong – Foo Fighters (acoustic version, played by Classern String Quartet).

What song played for your first dance?

As Time Goes By – Frank Sinatra

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

All of it! Doing the new things of each chapter, and doing them together. Learning more about each other! We are also really looking forward to travel and start a family someday!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

We absolutely love Ed & Val at KV! They are amazing! What we love most about them is how comfortable we immediately felt, and their photography talent. It’s so important to have a real connection with your vendors, especially your photographers, because you will be with them through most of the day. But they brought this sense of calm and lightheartedness to our day and it made all the difference. They are truly amazing!
