Oxford Exchange Wedding | Christina and Alex | Tampa Wedding Photography

How did you both meet?
We both worked at Carrabbas in Gainesville – he was a host and I was a server. One day he asked me to lunch & we started dating soon after that.

How did your husband propose?
I was along for the ride for one of his business trips to NYC. We were celebrating our seventh anniversary & he surprised me by proposing in central park. NYC was fitting b/c we used to live there & had our first apartment together there. He also flew up my parents & his parents & organized for our family & friends to all be there when he proposed (but hiding). He also surprised me by planning an engagement party following the proposal at a cute little restaurant called The Penrose on the upper east side.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
Elegant, romantic, natural greenery. Our venue had a charm about it which reminded us of NYC.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
The combination of the marble, greenery, and wood elements.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
The wooden, cursive name placecards were fun for guests to take home as a memory. The balloon drop during the grand exit was a fun way to end the event. I got a lot of inspiration and help from my wedding planner, Alexis Comas from Blush by Brandee. I also used Etsy & Pinterest for design inspiration as well.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Our first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”. It’s something that we worked on together for the month leading up to the wedding. It took me a bit out of my comfort zone but in the end, seeing it all come to fruition made it completely worth it.

Please describe your cake (if any):
A simple three-tiered cake – the bottom tier they call Lady liberty ( blueberry, raspberry & strawberry), and the top two tiers chocolate.

Can you please list your vendors:
KV Photography, Blush by Brandee Gaar, Style Hair & Makeup, KEJ Productions, Bitton Events, Calvet Couture, Botanica Florist, Chocolate Pi, Oxford Exchange

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
During the wedding, breathe and take in the moment. My husband and I planned a few minutes after the ceremony to take a moment to have our own private cocktail hour, which I would recommend – this allowed us time to spend our first moments as husband & wife together and really appreciate the moment.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Alex gave a toast after the best man’s toast. He had practiced it for me before the wedding, but he left out the last part. On the day of the wedding he gave the speech in full – the last part was dedicated to me & how he felt about me when we first met. Hearing him describe those moments in front of all our closest family & friends brought tears to my eyes.

What one moment will last with you both forever?
The feeling that we felt after being announced for the first time as Mr & Mrs Baden – having everyone cheer and us kiss felt surreal.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
The pictures of the wedding party and of everybody at the end of the night having fun and dancing.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
“I Get to Love You” by Ruelle

What song played for your first dance?
Perfect by Ed Sheeran

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Endless adventures.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
They were so nice, easy to work with, they made us feel extremely comfortable, and they made the whole process fun. As an added bonus, we also booked videographers (KEJ Productions), who they knew well. The chemistry between both of them added to the experience.
