How did you both meet?

Mike and I met in 9th grade through mutual friends.

How did your husband propose?

Our proposal was after hiking a trail in Malibu, California overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

Everyone knows I’m a huge wine drinker, so the major theme was the Tuscan, Italian vibes, while also keeping traditional/classic elements of a wedding from back in the day.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The look of the ballroom being so dim with gold accent lighting and candles and greenery everywhere.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

I loved the giant cork heart my stepmom and friends made with 1,500 bottles of wine. We also had personalized wood letters cut and pinned onto the cork heart, it was something we can definitely have in our house forever!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Without a doubt, it was the special dance I had with my granddaddy. It is something that I will never, ever forget.

Please describe your cake (if any):

4-tiered cake with a mixture of circle and hexagon shapes. In addition, it had gold, brown and white accents, as well as 3 flavors: chocolate, amaretto, and lemon.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Don’t wait until the last minute to purchase gifts (I.e. bridesmaids’ gifts), as it can be super stressful if you don’t find what you want. Also, people who said they were not going, might rsvp to yes later, so just roll with it and don’t let it upset you!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

My mom printed out a picture of our dog in a bow tie, framed it and had it placed on our sweet heart table so he could be there with us! Also, we loved that everyone started singing the star-spangled banner as we did our sparkler exit! It was so much fun!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Both Mike and I really enjoyed our private moment together in the wine cellar. We had a lot of time to sit quietly with each other and reflect on the ceremony.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

I am super excited to see the bridesmaids’ reveal with me, and also the first look with my dad.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

First, I cannot wait to start traveling together! Second, being able to start a family together one day!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

How genuine you both are, and also how much fun you are to be around. I know there was 110% effort put into making our day special and that means so much to us.
