How did you both meet?

At a mutual friend’s Halloween party, where James was a piece of pizza and I was a clown. 🙂

How did your husband propose?

He proposed at Summit Lake, part of Pikes Peak, outside of Denver.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

James and I wanted everyone to feel like we were at a big family dinner in Italy, therefore all of our decisions revolved around that!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The family style tables around the dance floor instead of traditional round tables.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

Our pizza cake obviously, it is our favorite food and a tribute to how we met! Also, the Florentine cookbook which was our guest book; we wanted something beautiful that we would use again. Both of us love to cook, especially Italian food, and thought this book would make a beautiful coffee table book as well. We also really loved our personalized programs; each program had an individual note to the guest and was decorated with a piece of seeded eucalyptus.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

When Reverend Ray called me Sarah instead of Samantha, that was definitely memorable 😉 it was honestly really great though!! I was so nervous when I walked down the aisle and the laugh totally put us at ease! Other than that, the love sprinkle of rain during our first dance. We like to think it was James’ mom sending her love from above.

Please describe your cake (if any):

Neither James or I are big cake fans, so we actually did pizza and cookies!

Can you please list your vendors:

KV Photography, Vangie/Blossoms, Paint it Black, A Beautiful Ceremony/Ray Alonzo, Jo Michelle Pro (makeup), LeJeune (hair), VIP Transportation, Simply Lighting, Mary’s Designer Bridal, Love & Lustre.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Take your time to pick vendors you love. That is what we did and it made all the difference in the look of our day and made planning a breeze.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

My mom getting down on the dance floor!! She absolutely killed it!!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

All of our guests on the dance floor together, singing and dancing during our last two songs.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride, ushers and grandparents walking down the aisle. Also, photos of the groom when I walked down the aisle.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

A Thousand Years.

What song played for your first dance?

I’ll be Waiting, by Nathaniel Rateliff.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We have six weddings to attend for family and friends within the next year, so we can’t wait to celebrate their love just as they did ours, together as husband and wife!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

KV Photography were honestly the best. You made planning a breeze and you are incredibly talented. They know exactly what to do to get those perfect shots, and act like friends rather than vendors. We are so grateful to have had you as part of our day.
