The Alfond Inn Wedding | Liz and Peter | Winter Park Wedding Photographer

How did you both meet?
About 4 years ago through a mutual friend.

How did your husband propose?
It was our 3rd anniversary (I really did not expect it to happen that day) but Peter came over to pick me up for dinner. When he came inside he had a dozen red roses, not unusual for him to do. I smelled them and went to put them in a vase before we left when he told me to look again. Inside the bouquet was a ring box, he pulled it out and got down on one knee and of course I said yes :).

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
Classic elegance. We wanted the day to feel warm and romantic with a little bit of flare.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
The floral, I loved the head table and all the hanging flowers. I didn’t want the ballroom to look like a ballroom and I feel like we were able to transform the room into something truly special. All the details were taken into account (usually by my father) all the way down to the dance floor matching the design on our wedding invitations.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
The venue – i went to Rollins for grad school and we wanted somewhere where all of our out of town guests could enjoy. We felt like winter park was a great location for that.

The dress – it was the very first one I tried on. We went to 3 different stores and at the end of the day went back to Something New and said yes to the very first dress.

The floral – in an ideal world i would have gotten married in some sort of glass green house (those d ont exist in Florida) so I really wanted something garden like, sophisticated and a little bit modern. Brian from flourish was amazing at transforming all of my Pinterest boards and ideas into a reality.

The entertainment – I saw Jared at M Lounge one night with girl friends and knew I wanted him at the wedding. We organized the entertainment around him because we wanted to the night to build. So Jared played at cocktail hour and dinner then the band came on for the party.

All the little extras-  midnight snacks and cigars I feel like there was a surprise for guests that helped keep the party going. Also the surprises for us – we didn’t know about the live wedding painter and it was one of our favorite gifts from the wedding and we just hung it up in our home.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle – I was calm all day and as soon as we got to the church all the nerves kicked in. I think I was more nervous about not tripping down the long isle at Knowles Chapel or up the steps but as soon as I saw Peter all of that went away.

Please describe your cake (if any):
It was a 5-tier white cake with a white gold and silver watercolor on the top half of each tier. I wanted something simple and unique. Inside was a tier of red velvet with cream cheese frosting, 2 tiers of amaretto with vanilla custard. A tier of cookies and cream cake and a small top tier of gluten free vanilla with fudge for me :).

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Try not to stress (easier said yhan done) and make sure to have all the planning done a few weeks before the wedding so you can actually enjoy all the moments leading up to the big day.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Honestly, how smoothly everything went.It was supposed to rain all day and it didn’t, it cleared before we left for the venue. The day was perfect and well planned by those involved with great vendors who made everything so easy.

Actual surprises – the wedding painter. It was funny I saw her as we pulled up the venue and thought, there usually aren’t painters on campus. Low and behold after the ceremony my dad pulled us over to meet her and look at her work . It was such a great surprise and an even better keepsake to remember our big day.

What one moment will last with you both forever?
The day was so perfect it is really hard to just pick one moment. I think seeing each other for the first time will be something we never forget though.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
There are too many to list 😂 I am excited to see the family photos and us with our bridal party (both getting ready and after the ceremony). I’m also excited to see more detailed photos of the venue/day. And of course every picture of Peter and I together. Everything you’ve posted so far has been beautiful!.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Cannon in D major

What song played for your first dance?
Coldplay – Adventure of a Lifetime covered by Gabriella

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Traveling the world together! We have a bucket list of places we want to go before life gets too crazy.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
You were great to work with. As soon as I met you guys I knew I wanted to work with you because it felt so natural and comfortable. You fit into our day so seamlessly and were able to capture the essence of us perfectly.
