How did you both meet?

We met at Rollins College at a bar named Drakes. Sean told me that he saw me at the movie theatre on Cape Cod in the summer. As it turns out, we both spent our summers on Cape Cod and he recognized me from school, but he was too shy to say something at the movies!

How did your husband propose?

Sean planned a weekend trip back to Orlando. He got us a hotel room at the Disney Beach Club hotel. On our second night there, he said we had a reservation at my favorite restaurant, Capa, at The Four Seasons. Later, he suggested we go get drinks around the Disney Boardwalk before we went to dinner. While we were walking, he stopped at our spot, where he first said “I love you” to me 7 years prior. It was perfect!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

I love palm trees! When we decided to get married in Florida, I wanted the theme to be Florida and have tropical leaves everywhere. Orlando isn’t exactly a destination wedding spot, but everyone was flying in from New England. I wanted them to feel like it was a total destination wedding and make it as tropical as possible while still making it feel elegant. We did a lot of palm fronds with little touches of white orchids, roses, and little gold accents with gold pineapples, and gold fronds. Tropical Romance was the goal!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

FH Designs did an amazing job in the Four Seasons ballroom. It was everything I dreamed of and more! The seating chart Stephanie came up with was so cool. Also, it was tiered with a big R for “Reilly” with palm leaves and flowers cascading down and flowers and candles on the ground in front of it.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

I loved the place cards that our coordinator Whitney Carillon came up with for the head table. They were plastic, gold shaped palm leaves with our names written in them. In addition, I also adored how every table was different. We didn’t want the room to look uniformed, so we had a mix or circular and rectangular tables with different centerpieces. The chandelier over the dance floor was another incredible component. It was made up of all the same flowers and palm fronds that were on all of the tables, with gold accents.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

When the doors of the chapel opened and I saw Sean standing at the end of the aisle. I still tear up every time I picture his face. Also, I still can’t get over my first dance with my dad. He is a man of few words, but while we were dancing he went on and on about how proud of me he was and how he couldn’t have chosen a more perfect husband for me if he tried. I think he told me he loved me over 100 times during that 3.5-minute song. It was the best 2 moments with my 2 favorite men.

Please describe your cake (if any):

I owe all the credit to Whitney Carillon for the cake design. It was beautiful! We had a 5-tiered cake with a big “R” in gold. It had white orchids flowing down with green and gold leaves. In addition to that, we did bride and groom flavors. I had selected a vanilla cake with a strawberry Chantilly cream between the layers, and Sean chose a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse between the layers.

Can you please list your vendors:

The Four Seasons was in charge of all of the catering. FH Designs designed the room, tables, centerpieces, dance floor, chandelier, and stage. The Hit Factory was our band. Whitney Carillon was our day of coordinator. Luxeciné was the videographer. Best for last, KV Photography captures our special day!

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Do not stress about the little things. By Summer, we already had the venue, catering, a band, photographer, and videographer. We felt really comfortable. But later, 3 months before the wedding, Sean’s dad passed away unexpectedly. I was ready to put the wedding on hold, but Sean insisted his dad would have wanted us to get married, so we pressed on. Quickly, we got the invitations out with the help of my sisters, and, after that, everything fell into place. Napkins, chargers, silverware, none of that matters in the end because it’s just about marrying the love of your life, and celebrating with the people who love and support you the most. On our wedding day, I did not notice any of the details, I just saw Sean. So I suggest hiring a great photographer like KV who will capture those little things that you might miss!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

My best friend Catherine Kennedy singing “If I ain’t got you” by Alicia Keys to Sean and I! I had no idea!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

It was definitely seeing Sean when I walked down the aisle at the Cathedral. I have never been surer of anything in my life as I walked towards him. I was expecting to cry like a baby, but instead I had the biggest smile I have ever smiled and felt like the proudest person in the world to be walking down to him. Also, I still can’t properly explain the joy and love that I had at that moment, but it was such a strong and powerful feeling, I’ll never forget it.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Cannon in D

What song played for your first dance?

Eyes on You by Chase Rice

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

I told Sean how nervous I was to get married because I didn’t want anything to change between us, and he assured me nothing would. We have such an awesome relationship! We have been together for 8 years and it still feels like we just started dating! We’ve been married a little over a month and it feels more exciting and better than ever. We have a date night once a week and are still going on adventures over the weekend.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

You guys made us feel like family. I am such an awkward person in front of the camera, but you made us feel so natural and comfortable. Also, I love how funny Ed is. All of the laughing pictures I have seen so far, are genuine laughs because Ed is just hysterical. Val, I loved having you in the room while we were getting ready. You almost gave us a purpose those first few hours. Everyone was so nervous, we didn’t know what to do, but once you got there we felt like everything made sense and all the girls somehow relaxed a little bit. You guys are just so great and perfect at this. I’m honored you had an opening that weekend and we’re able to shoot our day!
