How did you both meet?

We met exactly 6 years ago from the day we got married! It was through a mutual friend in Downtown Orlando on Wall Street. Joey couldn’t help himself and interjected himself into the conversation and we have been together ever since.

How did your husband propose?

Joey is very meticulous with his details and started working on a custom designed ring with White Flash. He had been planning the proposal for a long time and he knew he was going to do it at Kraft Azalea Gardens in Winter Park. He hired a photographer to capture the moment too!  Unfortunately, I had an ankle injury and ended up being in a boot for the proposal. I was so upset at the time, but now it’s funny to look back on it.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

I always knew I wanted it to have a spring wedding because I love the color palette. I was going for a romantic midsummer night’s dream feel with some modern elements including the geometric pieces we put in the centerpieces. The primary colors were blush and ice blue with pops of gold. We kept the colors separate so it didn’t look like a baby shower.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

My favorite design was the moon arch for the ceremony backdrop and sweetheart table. I didn’t 100% agree with what I originally came up with, and I worked with Flowers by Lesley a few weeks before the wedding and decided on the moon arch. I think it really set the tone for the wedding and was so beautiful and dreamy.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

I really loved the flowers so much! They were so beautiful and exactly what I envisioned. I was also pleased with how the seating chart and signage came out. I was so nervous since I was doing it myself but it came out perfectly. Joey made the hot sauces and we bottled them ourselves! Everyone really loved these wedding favors! We were originally only going to make one flavor of sauce but we were short and ended up making 3. It ended up being a collector’s item and some people were trying to collect all 3.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

The entire day! There is simply no way I could pick out just one moment. It went by so quickly it felt like one long cohesive moment. It felt like a lovely dream with all of our loved ones.

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a five-tiered delicious cake with 3 different flavors; Lemon poppy seed with blueberry cream cheese icing, chocolate with tiramisu filling and vanilla with strawberry filling. It was a light blue cake with cascading flowers from top to bottom.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

First, take it one step at a time. Second, make a list of everything you need to do and tackle it one by one. It can definitely be overwhelming when you look at the big picture, but if you book one vendor at a time and work on one thing at a time, everything will work out perfectly!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

It’s so cliché but what surprised us the most was just how fast the day went. I kept trying to soak it all in and before we knew it, it was over.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Exchanging the vows we wrote to each other. It’s not often you are pouring out your heart in front of everyone to proclaim your love, so it was definitely a really special moment.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

Particularly our first dance. Joey was quite nervous and I was also stepping all over my dress! We had just bustled my dress and I wasn’t yet very comfortable walking around in it so that should be funny to see.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Canon in D

What song played for your first dance?

And Then There Was You – Norah Jones

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

KV was so wonderful to work with! It felt like working with friends. They made everything so easy and they were very responsive. They kept it light hearted and were making us laugh the whole time and it made us feel more at ease.
