How did you both meet?

We met in 2015 at college in Gainesville, FL where we were taking a business course in accounting. At the time, David was working as an economics and accounting tutor. One day, Paola came in with questions related to the class. David walked Paola through the answers, only to find out in class that they were all wrong! David argued with the professor that the answers were correct but failed to get him to budge. This put David on the map! Shortly afterwards, a classmate arranged a study group, but only we showed up. We spent the entire time talking and became friends. After some time, we began to drift closer to each other. A few months later, David finally revealed his feelings for Paola to her family and friends, and shortly after that we were officially together.

How did your husband propose?

After a 4 year relationship, including living together for over a year, David realized he couldn’t see himself with anyone else and proposed on March 21, 2020, under a cherry blossom tree in peak bloom near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

A beautiful and elegant affair with vibrant energy and palpable love.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The venue itself, Casa Feliz.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them?

We looked through a lot of pictures and combined different ideas we liked to create our own wedding style. Also, we loved some of the floral elements like the black magic roses and baby’s breath flowers. The flowers along with the candlelit dinner in the courtyard set the mood for our guests and added to the magic of the moment.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

During the cocktail hour, David and I went to our dressing room where we listened to the sounds of the guitarist and our guests enjoying themselves. In that moment, we were able to take it all in and enjoy the afterglow of having been married only minutes before. Another amazing and high-energy moment was during our reception when our friends raised us on chairs to the song Peppas while everyone cheered.
