How did you both meet?

Camilo and I met in college through a mutual friend a little over ten years ago.

How did your husband propose?

We decided to go to Cocoa Beach on a whim for Labor Day weekend, and while we were there he proposed. Honestly, I knew he had a ring already (and he knew that I knew lol), so I planned a quick weekend getaway and kept hinting at a proposal in the days prior to our trip. I guess he got my hint :).

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

Our wedding was in December of 2018, two weeks before Christmas, so I wanted our wedding to feel festive and “wintery”, but also timeless and very elegant. I also took into consideration the rich Tuscan tones throughout our venue, Bella Collina, and wanted our wedding color scheme to compliment that.  That being said, our theme consisted of moody, jewel-tone colors, such as hunter green, and various reds, accented with gold and black.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

I loved how our color scheme was executed. It all came together even better than I had imagined. I also loved how all of the details to our wedding coordinated so perfectly, such as the day-of signage, invitations, favor tags, menus, etc. Denise at Dogwood Blossom really helped us to create a “brand” for our wedding.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

It is SO hard to pick a favorite, I loved how everything turned out! But if I had to pick, I REALLY loved our seating display hedge wall, our ceremony arbor, as well as our gorgeous florals and the gold shimmering table linens we picked out (they looked so great with the ballroom lights dimmed). I used Pinterest for inspiration, as well as Instagram. I actually got a lot of great ideas, such as the seating board display, from searching various wedding hashtags. Also, it was a super last-minute decision (literally, we booked it only a couple of days beforehand) to go with the indoor Cool Sparklers during our first dance, but we are so glad that we did! It was definitely quite the surprise for our guests … they absolutely loved them! (And they made for some pretty awesome photos).

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Our first look, and reciting our vows to each other.

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a three-tiered buttercream cake that had a subtle watercolor effect and gold specks surrounding cascading florals. I loved our custom cake-topper as well, which was a silhouette of Camilo and I, as well as our husky, on gold acrylic. We also had a delicious dessert table!

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Definitely enjoy being engaged for a little while before jumping in to wedding planning. Also, choose your wedding party VERY carefully. Book your favorite vendors as early as possible! (Ed & Val were the very first vendor we booked). Wedding planning is a lot of work, but try to have fun with the process :). Also, figure out what is the most important to the two of you for your wedding day, and don’t let anyone else detract you from that. Last thing, this is Florida, after all, so be prepared for the possibility of a little rain if your wedding is outside!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

Camilo had flowers and a sweet note delivered to the women’s dressing room the morning of the wedding. Also, Camilo doesn’t ever get super emotional, so for me, I was so surprised to see him get all choked up during our vows 🙂 It was super sweet and made me cry too … lol.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Honestly, it’s hard to really narrow it down to just one moment. The whole day was magical and something that we will both cherish for forever.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

We’re excited to see more photos from our ceremony, and our first look. We also can’t wait to see more photos from our grand exit with the sparklers and the Rolls Royce.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Thousand Years- Christina Perri

What song played for your first dance?

Tenerife Sea- Ed Sheeran

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are really looking forward to traveling the world and starting a family together.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

We hit it off with Ed and Val from the moment we met them at the Wedding Bliss event at Bella Collina and we knew then and there that we wanted to work with them. I would say Camilo and I can both be a little bit awkward in front of the camera, we never know what to do for a photo. But with Ed and Val, they made us feel so comfortable, and taking photos for both our engagement shoot and wedding was so easy, fun, and relaxed!
