December 21, 2020 / DESTINATION WEDDINGS WEDDING
Leigh Anne & Tim | Dr. Phillips Center Orlando wedding | KV Photography
How did you both meet?
Tim and I met while working at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando. We both had our eyes on each other, but it wasn’t until my boss strategically set us up working on an event together, that we got to know each other. Once we met, the rest was history! We were inseparable from that day forward!
How did your husband propose?
Tim proposed to me in Geneva, Switzerland. We arrived at Geneva on the morning of New Year’s Eve 2019, and we went for a walk after we arrived. It was on this walk that Tim proposed. Tim was born in Geneva and had not been back until our trip. He said that this is where his life began, and it is where he wanted our life together to begin!
What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)
Our original inspiration was Aspen, mountains and snow, but after that was cancelled due to the pandemic, we shifted gears. We kept ceremony “winter” themed with the birch trees, candles and of course the snow! For dinner/dancing, I wanted it to feel elegant and memorable. I wanted guests to feel warm and welcome but be delighted by the thoughtful details in the design. My favorite colors are black and ivory, so we went with those and incorporated gold as our accent! It was perfect and so romantic!
What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
All of it!! We loved it all. The candle work on the tables were stunning, along with the custom dance floor.
Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them?
I loved our dinner play list. It was a mix of a speakeasy sound with modern music, and it brought our vision together! But the individual wedding cakes are by far my favorite detail. I wanted guests to feel special, and the cakes were part of that element to me. I also loved the snow machine, because Tim wanted to give me snow, even if it was in Florida. He knew how important Aspen was to me, and he hated that I was missing out on my dream winter wedding. For our wedding band, my cousin is the owner and lead singer. Having him come down from Nashville and perform for us was amazing! Our dance floor was also incredible. Before the pandemic, Tim and I worked together for Jonathan Cain’s 70th Birthday party. Jonathan is the founding member of the band Journey. During sound check he played Faithfully, during that moment, Tim and I were dancing in the back of the ballroom to him playing and at that moment, Faithfully became our wedding song. So, we had our dance floor inscribed with “I’m forever yours Faithfully.”
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Our first look. Seeing Tim for the first time and spending those moments with him were perfect. I know that was his favorite part of the day too! But I also loved dancing in the snow with him after ceremony! We live for those private moments together!
Please describe your cake (if any):
We had individual wedding cakes. They were made by Grace Huertas from A touch of Grace. Grace was our lead pastry chef at Ritz-Carlton, but she was laid off as well. So, I enlisted her to make these cakes because I know and trust her quality of work! The cake was Vanilla Genoise with Diplomat Cream and Fresh Strawberries, surrounded by black fondant, a sugar gum flower and adorned with a crystal.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Hang in there and go with the flow, everything changes during a pandemic. Hopefully things will be better in this new year! But I would say, hire a wedding planner. After planning Aspen all on my own, I had zero energy to replan everything in Orlando. Brandee and Serena took so much stress off my plate, and they handled it. I couldn’t have done it without them.
What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How fast it went! You guys warned me, but I didn’t believe it! I look back and there are so many guests I didn’t get to spend time with or take pictures with, I’m glad you were there to capture what I didn’t get to see at every turn! But other than that, there were no real surprises, everything went perfect. And I was shocked by Tim’s gift to me! The tennis bracelet was so beautiful!
What one moment will last with you both forever?
Getting married by Glynn at our first look. That moment was so special and will last forever.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Hear as in Heaven by Elevation Worship
What song played for your first dance?
Faithfully by Journey
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
New adventures and growing together. We are blessed to spend so much time together as is, and we can’t wait to keep doing that!
What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
Everything! You two are family to us and we know you, trust you and love you! You made us feel so comfortable and guided us along the way! I was never worried that a shot would look bad with you behind the camera! The moments you capture are so unique and everyone is memorable!
