How did you both meet?

Mike’s childhood friend, Todd Kuerbitz, Best man at our wedding, introduced us. Todd and I used to work together and after several months of working together, he mentioned that he had a close friend he wanted me to meet.

How did your husband propose?

We were in London, England celebrating my 40th birthday when he reserved an entire “pod” on the London Eye and proposed during sunset overlooking London.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

We both wanted our wedding day to have an elegant, romantic, and classic feel with a bit of a modern touch. It was this vision that led us to incorporate subtle hues of blush with various varieties of eucalyptus.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The floral arrangements and bouquets that Taylor Issa and I designed and created.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

A lot of our wedding day details were inspired by boards on Pinterest, from the colors, the floral arrangements to our wedding favors.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

For Michele, it was leaving the church and getting into the Rolls Royce with my hubby. Being able to have that 20 mins together, just the two of us, was priceless. We got to just take in our wedding ceremony, take in each other and had fun taking selfies as we mentally prepared for a night of partying with our closest friends and family 😉

Please describe your cake (if any):

4-tiered cake created by the JW Marriott’s pastry chef Joanna. We had chocolate-infused cake with coffee syrup and layered with caramel cream. Floral elements designed and created by myself and Taylor Issa.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

With all the decisions that you have to make, it can be overwhelming. We decided early on to pick an element that we each really wanted for our special day, Mike had wanted to have a live band at the reception, and I wanted to travel between venues in a classic, regal vintage car. We then decided on an element we both wanted to make sure was incorporated in our special day and for us that was where we decided to have our ceremony. Those elements that we decided were of the most important for our day, we agreed to prioritize, everything else we remained flexible on.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

The groom launching the garter and getting it caught on the venue chandelier, where it likely still remains.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Seeing each other for the first time at the alter since we decided to not do a first look.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

Us leaving the church in the Rolls Royce.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Trumpet Voluntary – Clarke

What song played for your first dance?

Kenny Chesney – You Had Me From Hello

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Traveling, experiencing life, and growing old together.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

Ed and Val really took the time to get to know us and the vision we had for our day.  To have a married couple with the talent they have for capturing your wedding in photographs, is really priceless.  They were amazing to work with!
