How did you both meet?

We met in college, at the University of South Carolina, at a mutual friend’s birthday party.

How was the proposal?

Kyle proposed to Marisa in Houston, TX on a rainy Friday in January. Since the torrential downpour squashed Kyle’s plans of proposing on the rooftop with a Houston skyline as the background, he found the best spot inside, a nice grand wooden staircase, and proposed there. Then once the rain lightened to a drizzle we went out to the rooftop for our “The Notebook” moment.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)

Our wedding inspiration was Italy, having a destination wedding without having to travel across the Atlantic, with welcoming touches for each of our guests.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The venue design of Bella Collina. The Tuscan style architecture really transported us and our guests to Italy.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

The limoncello favors, the bride’s mom made really cute personalized tags to go on each of them! The Rolls Royce classic car that transported us from the church to the reception venue- we asked both of the dads to look through the list of available cars from VIP transportation and pick the one they thought was the best! The glow stick exit at the end of the night- since I don’t like sparklers I was googling and searching for alternatives and the glow sticks sounded the most fun and budget friendly since we got a huge pack off Amazon.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Our entrance into the reception and our first dance!

Please describe your cake (if any):

Our wedding cake was a 2-tiered cheesecake, the top tier was a Reese’s peanut butter cheesecake and the bottom tier was a raspberry cheesecake. Raspberry cheesecake was what we served to all of our guests.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Get at a minimum a day-of wedding planner.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

The fireworks that we were able to see from the reception lawn.

How perfect the whole day turned out!

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

All of the travelling we will do together!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

The attitude that Ed and Val had on the day of our wedding was great, they were funny and kept everything calm, and were with us since the start of the day and also out on the dance floor with us to capture so many fun moments. They delivered amazing photographs that we will cherish forever!
