How did you both meet?

We met online on Hinge!

How was the proposal?

I never thought I’d be able to surprise MJ (she’s basically a detective) but I did!
I set up a surprise proposal on the beach and with the help of a few friends to throw her off the scent we “magically” ended up on the beach in nice clothes. We don’t remember what we said but it went so well!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)

We both wanted timeless, elegant, black and white, and giving “there’s no way we’re still in Orlando” vibes.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

Truthfully all of it! We were able to pull everything together to make it such a memorable day. But if we had to pick one thing we don’t regret adding on it would definitely be the spark boxes!

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

The signature drinks were amazing and so delicious. We also had borrowed jewelry from family members, but the chest bump at the end of our first dance was epic!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Melissa: Without a doubt it would have to be our private last dance.
Austin: Sitting down at our sweetheart table after our first dance and soaking the day in with each other. 

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a simple round white iced carrot cake! And a variety of cupcakes for our guests.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Take your time with the planning and make sure everything is what you dream of!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

Just how perfect the day was, everything went so smoothly and we had the best weather we could have asked for!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Our moment alone in the wine cellar to take a breath after the ceremony.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

New adventures and tons more travel!
