How did you both meet?

We met in NYC through our mutual friend, Morgan. Morgan was Pat’s neighbor and family friend growing up and she became one of my best friends during college. In August 2013, while all living in NYC, Morgan and I met up with Pat one Friday night and the rest is history!

How was the proposal?

Pat proposed on a last minute trip we booked to Bermuda in September 2021, a destination we had always wanted to travel to together. I thought the trip was for Pat to take some time off from work, I was actually calling it “Pat’s trip”. But, that quickly changed when he popped the question the first night on the beach at sunset.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)

Modern, yet minimal, tropical vibes. Lots of white with dark green and silver accents. Given it was a destination wedding, we wanted to make our guests feel like they were on a weekend getaway to enjoy the time away. Just show up and have a good time!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

My dress, of course!

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

My favorite detail was the beach lunch and pool party Friday afternoon with all of our closest friends. As soon as Pat and I decided to get married in Florida, we knew we wanted that as part of our wedding weekend. It gave us a chance to kick off the weekend early and spend more quality time with friends and family. 
As foodies, we also really enjoyed picking out our food selections, which represented some of the favorite foods we enjoy. We even had late night Chick-fil-A catering for our after party; people went absolutely crazy over it.
Another detail I loved was our save the dates and invitation suite. I wanted to keep our modern, minimal tropical design, which was achieved by using blind heated impressions of tropical leaves onto the cards. And, our invitation suite was held together in a dark green folder, like a travel itinerary might be.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Being able to spend a weekend with all of our family and friends in one place. You can’t beat how special that is and the feeling of love and pure happiness surrounding you!

Don’t sweat the small stuff! 

What one moment will last with you both forever?

After all the events ended early Sunday morning, we headed back to our room in our golf cart. Almost everything had been taken down, but the ceremony flooring and stage were still on the lawn near our room. We got out from the cart and laid down to take everything in. It was a rare moment from the weekend with just us two, alone taking in everything from such a special weekend.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Continuing all of life’s adventures, starting with our honeymoon to New Zealand and Bora Bora this December.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

How easy and fun you made the experience! As a type-A, wedding planning can be stressful. It was so easy to put our trust in you both to capture candid moments from our weekend. You blended in so well and made us feel so comfortable. We had so much fun!
