How did you both meet?

We met at the gym.

How was the proposal?

We had planned a Florida road trip starting from the South and heading back up. We were in Key Largo enjoying the beginning of our vacation together. Mike told me he had booked dinner for us. He refused to tell me where we were going, so I could not look up the menu ahead of time, something I love to do! When we headed down to the lobby, we were greeted by a lady who escorted us to a private pergola with string lights overlooking the ocean and a picture perfect sunset. Mike suggested we take some photos with the beautiful view. Then, he offered to take a couple of me looking off into the ocean and sunset. When I turned around, there he was on one knee holding the ring.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)

Our theme was elegant, romantic, and classic.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

Our three arches. We had seen a photo of three arches and thought it was something unique and beautiful. Our floral company did an amazing job replicating it. Also, we loved how the spark boxes surrounding the dance floor turned out in our photos. They created a beautiful look all around when we were dancing with the smoke.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

We loved that we had live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We always enjoyed listening to Bryan Malpass and Tanner Johnson at Disney Springs, and when we got engaged we knew we wanted their music to be part of our day. Another favorite detail was the appearance by Mickey and Minnie. We had seen other Disney resort weddings have them and thought it would be such a cute surprise for our guests. Nobody knew about it and everyone was so excited when they came strolling in!

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

The ceremony and also standing at the alter together saying “I Do.” Additionally, Mike said “yes” at first which was also a funny and memorable moment.

Please describe your cake (if any):

It was a 3-tier vanilla cake with white mocha cream filling.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

It only happens once so remember to make the most of the day and the planning process. Things will go wrong on the day of the wedding, but it will still be the most perfect day so just enjoy it.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

Our wedding was two days after Hurricane Ian and our biggest surprise was the amount of support we got from both of our sides of the family and our friends. The majority of our guests were flying in and had their planes cancelled and everyone came together to bend over backwards to find a way to be part of our day. We were so grateful and speechless by the support we received and how well everyone present got along together.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

There were many moments, but we particularly enjoyed our choreographed dances we did together. We both spent time learning to dance together and when we finally did the two dances and it came together, it was not only a wonderful moment in the wedding but another thing we had accomplished together.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Instrumental version of Can’t Help Falling in Love, by Elvis Presley

What song played for your first dance?

Our “first” dance was “Beggin’”, by Maneskin. Then, we did a slow dance was “Kiss From A Rose”, by Seal.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Starting our life and family together as a married couple and conquering our next set of goals together.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

Them :). Val and Ed are both lovely people and so easy to get along with and feel comfortable around. They are professional, friendly, enjoyable to be around, and extremely talented.
