How did you both meet?

We met the first semester of college at UCF. My maid of honor Julie was my suite mate and her friends (chips groomsmen) were suite mates with Chip!

How did your husband propose?

He proposed at Lake Eola on a random Friday (happened to be Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day) with a guitarist playing one of our favorite songs and a hidden photographer! We went to dinner at Soco after and celebrated with our friends afterwards at Mather’s and Casey’s downtown!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

We wanted it to be fun and for everyone to dance all night! I also wanted it to be beautiful on top of the fun and dancing! I knew Dr. Phillips Center was the perfect backdrop because we love downtown Orlando and the city vibe. I loved gold, plum, ivory, green, blush, and my wedding planner brought in the idea of black and it was a game changer!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

I loved seeing how all of the colors came together. I was a little nervous about having black chairs and plates but it turned out so amazing! The lighting and the design on the back wall turned out so awesome as well from Fyerfly!!

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

My wedding planner Carly really helped me develop the theme and colors for the wedding and connected me with the best vendor team! I could not have done any of it without her. We loved so many things! The sparklers for our first dance, having our friend marry us, the music, and Definitely loved and I think our guests loved that we had McDonalds as a late-night snack. Lots of Pinterest and Instagram for design ideas. Fyerfly really got us from the get go and created such an amazing night with the music that felt like it was so us and we love a good late-night snack after some drinks with friends.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Our First look and him finally getting to see me in my dress.

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a simple three tier naked style red velvet cake there was one flower and a Gold hexagon with Mr. and Mrs. Harris in the middle on top. We also had a UCF funfetti grooms cake from Sprinkles!

Get a wedding planner!!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

We did not think that the sparklers were going to happen do to fire permit restrictions but the day before Fyerfly and Dr. Phillips came through and told us it was a go and it was so awesome! I also forgot that the windows were going to open at Dr Phillips and when it happened it was so amazing! Our guests loved both and they were such great moments!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Reading our letters to each at the first look. We started our letters with the same first sentence!

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

The sunset pictures after the ceremony! It was a truly incredible sunset that night.

What song played for your first dance?

Brighter Than Sunshine – Aqualung

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

Spending our lives together and starting a new chapter with a family. 

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

We loved how light-hearted you guys were and how much you put us at ease. We were so worried about getting our pictures taken because we did not think we were very photogenic but KV made us feel so calm and comfortable throughout the whole day!
