How did you both meet?

We met online. It was kind of scary at first, but we did spend a lot of time on the phone before we ever met in person.

How did your husband propose?

Our first stop in our Hawaii trip was the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai in Kona. First, we spent the day exploring and lounging by the pool. I knew someone who worked there, and she offered to setup a nice dinner for us since it was our first night in Hawaii. They picked us up in a golf cart and took us to the beach, and I was so stunned. We had a private dinner on the beach, candles, lounge furniture to take in the sunset. It was perfect! Cameron acted just as “surprised”. As the sun went down, Cameron said let’s walk out and take a photo. Soon after, he got down on one knee and proposed! I was so filled with emotion that I didn’t even notice the photographer there! We enjoyed our dinner filled with laughter and happy tears! I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

We both really wanted our wedding day to be filled with our close friends and family that have supported us a couple. We had a lot of guests coming from out of town so a wedding weekend was a must. A time when our families could get to know each other, relax and enjoy a weekend away. For the wedding day the theme was really timeless romance. A feeling of love and excitement as we joined as husband and wife.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The ceremony was very important to us as that time truly signifies the start of your journey as husband and wife. We wanted it to feel as intimate was possible and did so by creating a semi-circle so guests could feel closer together. We knew that we wanted a hexagon arch to set the backdrop for where we would say our vows. The florals tied it all together and created a space that we felt warm and happy. We loved everything about the design concept for the lawn.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

Our vendors were amazing! First, Ocean Hawk and Lee James took our vision on the décor. The arch and florals on the lawn set the tone perfectly for the ceremony. The table scape, dessert buffet and backdrop for our sweetheart table were romantic and lush. Also, Get Lit set the perfect mood with up lighting and texture on the ballroom ceiling. We knew we wanted a few surprise elements! FyerFly really stepped up and helped me pull it off. Everyone, including Cameron, were so shocked as sparkler boxes went off during our first dance. The look on his face was priceless, a moment I will never forget! As everyone was dancing, our DJ Jim knew the perfect time to set off the confetti! The excitement was just contagious! I’m so thankful I had Christy, with Anna Christine Events by my side each step of the way! She made sure everything was flawless.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Our first look, it’s something that only happens once. The first glance as soon to be husband and wife, the time you have prepared for a year. It’s all comes together in that one moment. I will cherish that time we had together for the rest of our lives.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Enjoy this time together and don’t stress about the small things. Wedding planning can be very stressful. Hire vendors that are true professionals and will take that stress away. Spend a little time on Pinterest and then look away! You will second guess yourself a million times. Go with your first instinct and let you planner and florist help guide you with your vision.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

Cameron and I decided that we wanted to have a wine box at the wedding that we would place our vows in after reading privately. That time together was so intimate and something I’m glad we did. Each anniversary we plan on drinking the wine and reading our vows and then writing a letter to each other that we will read on the next anniversary. This will be a time at least once a year where we can remember the past and have so much to look forward in the future. Our wedding day was so special to us and what better way than to look back and remember the love you shared with each other and your families on that special day!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Merry Me – Train

What song played for your first dance?

I am Yours – Andy Grammar

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

After an incredible honeymoon in Hawaii and Bora Bora, we are ready to start a family and enjoy our new chapter as husband and wife. Life is precious and we want to enjoy every moment to the fullest.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

Ed and Val are a dynamic duo in so many ways. There was no question on who was photographing our wedding. The instant connection we had with them as a couple before we were even engaged made us both feel so at ease. As a bride you want as little stress on your wedding day as possible. These two make that happen. From the first look to the last dance every emotion was caught on camera. We will be able to relive our wedding day through photos for the rest of our lives! We could not be more grateful to them for capturing our vision in a way we never would have imagined!
