How did you both meet?

We met through a matchmaking service called Tawkify. We were set up on a blind first date in November 2016 and the rest is history!

How did your husband propose?

Matt proposed over the 4th of July in Washington Sq. Park in Manhattan, where we live. It was a total surprise! First, we went to the location of our first date to celebrate the Holiday. Secondly, he arranged for our families to meet us there as a surprise! And then we all celebrated together.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

Our vision for the cocktail hour and reception was a European influence. Lots of rich, dark color in the florals and a lot of brightness in the dance floor. We also wanted the event to be formal with an understated elegance. Also, the majority of tables were small so guests could really mingle and connect with the people they were sitting with. In addition, each corner had a rectangular table under a pergola to book end room and bring in some of that European aesthetic.  The ceremony aesthetic contrasted from the richness of the reception and was very ethereal with lots of whites and greenery. We had string lights to make the room feel like an intimate space.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

I loved our paper story and the font that we used from our save the dates as well as in our invitations, cocktail napkins, table numbers; and even our dance floor. I loved he font a lot because of the messy and casual nature of the writing, balanced well against the heavier florals for an edgier feel. The big white dance floor with “Ever Mine, Ever Thine, Ever Ours” was also one of my favorite details.
Also, our chuppah, constructed by my husband is one of the most incredible touches. It was dressed so beautifully and carries such special meaning for us since Matt built it from design to wood selection, to cutting and ultimately construction. We will keep that wood forever and plan to make an art piece or bench out of it for our home.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

So many great details! From Matt constructing our chuppah, to the incorporation of music played by family members.
Our logo is an L for Lundy (Matt’s last name) in a circle that resembles a wave. The circle represents continuity of our marriage and being surrounded by love. Many see an “@” in our logo as well. This is special because my last name is Albertson, so it’s the combination of our two families in many ways.
From a floral standpoint, we did not want our centerpieces to be standard. We thought the color-blocking approach with the single-flower arrangements was very unique and carried the flower cart theme to the tables. Also, I loved our floral chandelier that made such a strong statement in the room! The Flower Cart was such a fun anchor for our seating charts that really established the theme well.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

All of the unique, thoughtful details during the day were extremely special: The Ketubah signing was incredibly special and memorable. My dad playing the guitar and me & Matt and our siblings joining him on the stage to dance. In addition, my sister and my dad’s performance for me and Matt; and last, but certainly not least, Matthew’s performance for me!

Please describe your cake (if any):

Whitney Carillon, our wedding planner, designed our cake. It was multi-layer with our logo and had a fun bow.

Can you please list your vendors:

Whitney Carillon (Planner), KV Photography, KEJ Videography, Four Seasons (Catering, Wedding Venue), Beth Bee Art (Live Painter), Raining Roses (Floral), FyerFly productions, Big Swing and the Ballroom Blasters (Music), Lejeune Artistry (makeup), Kim SanFilippo (Hair), Sareh Nouri (Dress), Eleven Note (Paper/ Stationary), Wizard Connection (Event Production), Paper Bar Co (Sketch Drawings), Fabrics Tattoo (Leather Jackets)

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

First, try not to get stressed; you’re planning the best day of your life! Second, book your favorite & must have vendors as early as possible, as they book well ahead in advance. Also, very important – The crazy ideas are the ones that will differentiate and make your day so special!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

So many details! Matthew playing the guitar for me was definitely the biggest surprise, and also the confetti and fireworks!

What one moment will last with you both forever?

The Ketubah signing was amazing and very special.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

For me, it was “At Last”, by Etta James. For Matt, it was “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, by Elvis Presley.

What song played for your first dance?

Can You Feel the Love Tonight.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are excited to continue onto the next step of our journey and experience all of the adventures that we have in store for us as husband & wife!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

Their quality is beautiful and absolutely unparalleled. Their photos are pieces of art with an incredible cinematic quality. We knew that they would be the right team to capture the true beauty of our day.
In addition, they are so personable and helped make sure we achieved everything we wanted on our wedding day. We are so grateful for them and felt so comfortable from the first moment we met.
Ed and Val are so warm and friendly and brought out the best in us during our wedding day.
They were also so accommodating to different requests we had. Matt was building our chuppah, and they helped come up with a solution to ensure this was part of our wedding package. We were truly so grateful.
I cannot recommend KV Photography highly enough and am so excited to see the images that were captured on our big day!!
