Stefanie & Brian | Casa Feliz Wedding | Orlando Wedding Photographer
How did you both meet?
Brian and I met at a UCF college bar after he had graduated and I had another year left. We were hanging out with mutual friends at happy hour and we started talking that night. Later on, we went on several dates and the rest was history! After that, we took a really cute picture together that night that we still have! It looked like we had been dating for years in the photo!
How did your husband propose?
It was Christmas Eve 2017 in front of all of our family. Recently, we had moved into our new apartment in Orlando and decided to be hosts for the holidays. We had 15 people in a tiny 700 sq.ft. apartment that night. First, each person got to open a gift. Later, when it was my turn, Brian told me to look for a specific gift behind the tree. Then, I turned around in frustration because nothing was there and once I turned he was on one knee!
What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)
Rustic theme. Moreover, Casa Feliz has a lot of pale blues and pinks so I tried to keep with that feel.
What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
The uniqueness of Casa Feliz in general. It reminds me of St. Augustine where I grew up; Spanish style tiles and brick. The house alone was my favorite design element.
Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
One of my favorite things about the wedding were all the old wedding photos from our grandparents and parents that were on the mantel and hutch in the great room. It was important to me with such a small/close wedding that we brought in our Italian and Asian heritage somehow. Secondly, our first song was also very strategic because “September” lyrics start with “do you remember the 21st night of September” which was our wedding date and first dance.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
The speeches! Such a heartfelt and warm moment.
Please describe your cake (if any):
Rustic, naked 3-tiered cake with soft pink and ivory roses. In addition, it was an almond cake with coconut, creme cheese, and raspberry filling.
Can you please list your vendors:
Photographers: KV Photography, Coordinator: Amanda Gonzalez with Save A. Date, DJ: Junction 88, Florist: BlueGrass Chic, Hair: Ovation Blowdry, Makeup: Arianna Strewart, Cake: Sprinkles, Catering: Arthurs
Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Firstly, drink lots of water the day of; secondly, get on the dance floor, and, talk to everyone that you can!
What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Everything looked exactly the way I wanted. Also, the catering/casa staff worked like a machine.
What one moment will last with you both forever?
My song starting as I look into my husband’s eyes for our first dance.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Marry Me by Train
What song played for your first dance?
September (Earth Wind and Fire Cover)
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Enjoying good food, travel, and laughter.
What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
How comfortable we felt! Brian and I are an awkward couple, so being the center of attention is not easy for us, but Val and Ed made it easy 🙂 They flow so well together and with their clients.
