How did you both meet?

We met while working at Aquatica. We were both lifeguards, and it was my first job.

How did your husband propose?

Josiah proposed on Christmas Eve 2016. We had just come home from church and my family had us all huddled by the Christmas tree, he gave me a flash drive with a video he had made and it was a video of why he loved me and at the end it said will you marry me? It was instant tears.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc.)

Our wedding inspiration was modern science. We are both very modern people but being in education and Josiah being a scientist (literally) we wanted it to be the best of both of our worlds.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.

My favorite wedding details were the centerpieces how it had the science tie-in but it wasn’t in your face but you knew what the theme was. Josiah’s favorite elements were how the different portions showed our different personality types. The signs were all me whereas the science was mostly him. We just wanted something that was going to be an accurate representation of us.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

THE PAINT. Ha, that was definitely the highlight of the wedding (people who weren’t invited knew about it before the day was over.) If you know us it was 100% personalities coming out at the “wrong” time. It was frustrating as it happened but we think it’s absolutely hysterical now.

Please describe your cake (if any):

Our cake was 3 layers, the top layer was key lime with our monogram on it, the middle layer was navy marble with hints of grey and silver and it was amaretto, and the bottom was a reverse drip in silver and that flavor was strawberry (my personal favorite.) We also had fresh flowers on it as well.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Enjoy it! Honestly, it was SO much fun, there were stressful times but at the end of the day, nobody knows what you have planned but you and your husband. The day itself goes by so quick, but it is 100% worth it.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

Josiah printed enough reasons for everyone attending reasons why he loved me. After dinner, every single person brought them up to me. It was SO sweet and I was completely caught off guard.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

I know I mentioned it in the previous question but Josiah’s book of love.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?

The paint!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

Bridesmaid and groom walked down to From the Ground up by Dan and Shay  I walked down to I can’t help falling in love by Haley Reinhardt.

What song played for your first dance?

Grow Old With You- Adam Sandler

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

As cheesy as it is, forever!

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

They’re incredibly warm and welcoming. From the very beginning, I felt like I had known them forever. When it came to taking pictures nothing felt staged, and they kept it 100% real (at one point I was told to fix my RBF ha!) We will definitely be using Val and Ed for all of our photography needs! They are two of the most genuine people I have ever met. I feel like we found more than photographers we have found friends!
