The Manor House Colorado Wedding | Jordan and Jonathan | Colorado Wedding Photographer

How did you both meet?
We met the new old fashioned way – Match.com!! It works!!.

How did your husband propose?
Jonathan proposed on New Years Day under the guise of us going out for dinner with my parents and brother to celebrate my birthday. I thought it was highly suspicious on the day of the way he was acting, and then he gave me a jewelry box as a birthday gift.. I thought the proposal was coming. Then we paid our bill and were leaving and I was like “dang, he really threw me off!” Next thing I know he is down on one knee by the fire and proposing and the proposal paparazzi jumped out of nowhere and captured it all for us. I was shocked!.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
Our inspiration was a simplistic modern and elegant feeling with clean lines and neutral colors.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
I loved the tall floral centerpieces! The gold container they were in was just to die for. I loved the clean lines and simplicity but the fact that our guests could still interact across the table without it getting in the way.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
I loved our favors for our guests –Moscow Mule Mugs – it meant a lot to us because it’s the only drink we make at home together and we have had a LOT of mules over the course of our relationship. You can also switch it up to be a Tennessee Mule and it felt appropriate since we moved to Nashville just 2 weeks before our wedding. I also loved our invitation suite and signage and the elegant/modern font with the DIY feel (but we bought it; signage from OAKYDesigns on Etsy, Invitations designed by HeavenandFifthStudio on Etsy and Printed by Donahue Paper Co.). I also was a huge fan of our florals – I cannot say enough about how much I loved our florals!!!.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
For me, the speeches from our family/friends were the most memorable. We have such amazing people in our life and hearing their love and support of us meant so much as we embark on this new journey. We also surprisingly LOVED doing the morning after shoot. Even though getting up early was brutal, it was so fun and laid back and helped us have a less rough first day as Husband and Wife J.

Please describe your cake (if any):
We had 2 cakes! Our main cake was a 3 tier white buttercream cake comprised of cookies and cream, lemon raspberry and vanilla tiers. And a Redwings themed cake for the Groom to add in a fun element for him. This was cookies and cream too because it was just tooooo good.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
I would say: Take it from me, (2 dress girl..) do not spend a fortune on the dress, it gets ruined by the end of the night and you want to be comfortable. If your dress has those buttons down the back (even if they are fake with a zipper, they get looped over with loops) HAVE SOMEONE DESIGNATED TO UNHOOK YOU BEFORE YOU LEAVE TO YOUR HOTEL! (Thank you to my bridesmaid Jocelyn for hooking me up on that one!). Book your night of hotel for 2 nights. We got to enjoy 2 nights in The Crawford Hotel which was lovely – I’m glad we got to spend the whole next day and night there and not worry about checking out right away and moving all our stuff first thing in the morning. Hire a wedding planner. Invest in good photography and videography, and don’t worry too much about all the other stuff. It’s easier said than done I know. Just try to enjoy your day and the time in your life. Oh and don’t move twice or cross country during your engagement!.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
The biggest surprise to me was my Brother In Law, Tim, busting out these blue light up shoes and doing an incredible freestyle dance to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling”  I loved it so much I made him do it again. Sorry Tim!.

What one moment will last with you both forever?

For me, just looking out to see all the people who came to support and celebrate with us. I took some mental pictures during the ceremony and dinner that I hope I won’t ever forget.

For Jonathan, seeing me walk down the aisle.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
I’m most excited to see photos of my dance with my father. I’m also most excited to see our family photos from the front of the house – we don’t have a lot of recent family photos so I’m really excited about that.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Canon in D – The Palonina Quintet

What song played for your first dance?
Stay With You – John Legend.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Getting Predators Season Tickets! And just enjoying our new jobs and making new friends in Nashville!.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
Whew, that’s a tough one. I think what I liked MOST is how involved and present KV Photography was on the day of the wedding. My mother in law was telling people for weeks after about Val and Ed and their whole life story I felt like! Many of my guests reached out about how much they loved KV Photograph and that they were so engaging with our guests. It brought this fun and intimate feeling like they were our friends shooting the wedding, not just some photographers we found.  That personal touch was really magical and also made me more comfortable throughout the evening.
