Lake Mary Event Center | Lexi and Aaron | Orlando Wedding Photographer

How did you both meet?

We met on our first day of work at the Walt Disney World Resort. We
were the only two people going to work at Epcot and we hit it off
right away!

How did your husband propose?

Aaron surprised me by taking me on a Disney Cruise with all of my
family! The first night of the cruise we went to a romantic dinner
and then he took me to a special location where Mickey Mouse greeted
us! With Mickey’s help, Aaron asked me to marry him with a ring
that has two “Hidden Mickey’s”!

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall
theme and feel of the day, etc)

My inspiration was “autumn fairytale”. I love fall and wanted it
to feel romantic and dreamy!

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

I was very excited about the twinkly lights that we incorporated
into our centerpieces and reception backdrop.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you
came up with them.

In honor of our love for Disney, and as a nod to my enagagement
ring, we had “Hidden Mickey’s” in many elements of our
wedding: on our invitations, signange, cake and cake topper. I also
loved making our table numbers with small white pumpkins and using
cranberries in our centerpieces because I really wanted to add
elements of Autumn in a subtle way.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Our first look was so memorable because of the anticipation and
relief of finally seeing each other on our big day. I will always
remember the huge smile on Aaron’s face when he turned around and
saw me.

Please describe your cake (if any):

We had a 3-tier fondant and buttercream cake with swirls in the
bottom layer, a monogram on the middle layer and a pin cushion
design on the top layer with Hidden Mickey’s.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?

Know that some things will go wrong. Quite a few things about my
wedding were not as I had planned or imagined, but I didn’t let it
take me away from the moment of how special this day was and what it
was really about: my husband and I committing our lives to each
other. All of the little things didn’t matter, our day was not
about food, decorations or being on time, it was about sharing our
love with our family and friends.

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?

A plane landing on the I—4 highway which backed up everything!
Only half our guests were there at our ceremony start time because
of traffic. We rolled with the punches and held the ceremony until
about 70% of our guests were there. Everyone was able to join us for
the reception and we heard a lot of stories from guests who drove
right past the plane on the highway!

What one moment will last with you both forever? During the
reception, the DJ played a slow dance song and Aaron and I took a
moment to look around the room. The love filling the room was
palpable. We saw couples of different ages, ethnicities, and
orientations and it was overwhelming to see and feel how truly
beautiful and diverse love can be. A friend later confided in us
that it was the first time he had ever felt comfortable dancing with
his same-sex partner of 7 years in public. It meant so much to us
that our wedding created an environment for people to be who they
are and to love one another openly.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos? We
already saw so many of the pivotal moments in the preview we
received but I know Aaron is super excited to see the photos of our
getaway car! I’m looking forward to more candids and the family
portraits.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
“I See the Light” from Disney’s Tangled played by the Classern
Quartet

What song played for your first dance?

We danced to the Jessie Ware cover of “A Dream Is A Wish Your
Heart Makes” from Disney’s Cinderella.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?

We are planning on seeing the world as much as we can before we
start a family. We got a head start on our honeymoon by visiting
Hawaii and Japan. This year we already have a road trip on the East
Coast and a trip to Europe planned.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?

Ed and Val are both such genuine people. I had the opportunity to
get to know them really well before our wedding and I love how funny
they both are! You can tell they care about their clients and
capturing their day beautifully.
