How did you both meet?
Brief version = We met through mutual friends (my very good friend from High School who lives in England was visiting his Brother-In-Law. The Brother-In-Law happened to be Sade’s friend and colleague at work. They both nudged us towards each other.

How did your husband propose?
I decided to incorporate elements of our first date in Atlanta. We visited Atlanta for the weekend and I convinced her to visit a park near her old apartment where we spent time during the early days. We sat down, admired the scenery, took a few pictures then I got down on one knee and asked her if she would marry me.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
Our wedding inspiration was Timeless Elegance.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
The way we combined blue and gold, and the cross.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
The venue – it was breathtaking !! It felt like we were in a dream. The ambience was perfect. Outside of the occasion itself, that was my favorite wedding detail. The scenery was amazing.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Watching Sade walk down the aisle, tied with our first dance.

Please describe your cake (if any):
4-tier cake … 3^rd tier was Champagne & Raspberries, bare with a pearl dusted lace. 2^nd & 4^th tiers were chocolate and had a horizontal coconut-almond buttercream pattern with natural flowers … So yummy !

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
The wedding is about you marrying the love of your life … Have a clear idea what you want; then have an honest conversation with your spouse and family discussing this. Know your budget; what you can afford and what you can’t. Do not drive yourself crazy trying to get what you cannot afford.

If you decide to get a wedding planner (highly recommended), get one very early in the process and enjoy it.

There will probably be hiccups in the planning phase. Life happens. At the end of the day, remember, you are marrying the love of your life … and most importantly … Have fun !!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How beautiful Sade looked … How quickly it went and there was no time to talk to anybody

What one moment will last with you both forever?
When Reverend Allison said “I now pronounce you man and wife” and when she said “Introducing the Doctors Orija”

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
Sade walking down the aisle … The photos of just the 2 of us after we got married

“Where I sleep” by Emeli Sade

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Raising a family and Growing old together … Spending time together, merging our lives together

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
We had a very large family and you managed ours and their expectations very well. You took beautiful photos and you were flexible in making sure our priorities were met in the time constraints. You were patient, very creative and had ideas about photos that I never would have thought of. You made me feel special every single second.

More than the beautiful pictures, beyond the professionalism and friendliness, you both looked out for us – you made sure we ate, you made sure we were comfortable, you made sure we got the pictures WE wanted. Thank you very much.
