    How did you both meet?

We met our freshman year at the University of South Florida. We lived in the same dorm and met through mutual friends.

How did your husband propose?

We went on a trip to the Keys with my parents in August 2016. On the last night, he had planned a dinner for all of us to go to at Hawk’s Cay Resort. Before dinner, he took me on a little walk to a secluded beach to watch the sunset. When we got to the beach, there was a heart in the sand outlined with rose petals and a bottle of champagne in the middle. He got down on one knee and proposed with my parents, his mom and sister overlooking from the balcony behind us. (To add to the surprise, his mom and sister came down to join in the celebration.) After the proposal, we all went to the resort to have dinner.

What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)

We wanted our wedding to be elegant, romantic and fun. I got a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and going to our friends’ weddings. We used classic colors like navy, white and gold and with a pop of coral. I love flowers, so we tried to carry that theme throughout the stationary and decor.

What was your favorite design element of your wedding?

The flower wall and candy buffet seemed to catch everyone’s eye and become a focal point for personal photos.

Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
Some of our favorite details were the flower wall, candy buffet, acrylic signs (table numbers, memorial table sign, cards/gifts sign, etc) and the memorial table. I found the candy buffet and flower wall on Instagram. Our florist had posted a photo of them together and I fell in love. I wanted to have unique table numbers and signs, and found the idea for acrylic signs on Etsy. The memorial table was a great way for us to remember our loved ones that couldn’t be there with us that day, including Travis’ dad, my grandparents, great-grandparents and great uncles.

What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
When we were pronounced husband and wife in front of all of our family and friends! It was such an amazing experience.

Please describe your cake (if any):
Our cake was ivory with blue “ribbon” (made in fondant) at the bottom of each layer and gold cascading from the top of each layer. We had coral flowers/greenery placed around the cake layers and on top of the cake. We had 4 different layers with each layer being a different flavor: amaretto with an amaretto filling, cookies and cream with a vanilla custard filling, lemon with a raspberry filling and almond with a coconut filling.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
If possible, have a wedding planner to ensure your day will go smoothly and you’ll have nothing to stress about. Don’t get stressed about the little things and don’t lose sight of what the day is truly about… celebrating your love!

What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How emotional we got when we read each other’s letters. I tried to hold it in, but there was no stopping those tears! lol I was also surprised at how emotional Travis got (he doesn’t always show his emotions).

What one moment will last with you both forever?

When my dad and I got to the altar and he gave my hand to Travis. Seeing how happy my dad looked and seeing each other for the first time that day are two memories that will stay with us forever.

Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
We’re excited to see all of the ceremony photos!

What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Bridal Chorus – Wagner (Here Comes the Bride)

What song played for your first dance?
Stay with You – John Legend

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Experiencing everything life has to offer together! We are looking forward to having our lives back now that the wedding planning is over.

What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
How down to earth and funny you guys are. You made us feel comfortable even though we are both so awkward when taking photos! Taking photos was fun and didn’t feel like a formality.
