How did you both meet?
Match.com.
How did your husband propose?
Pulled from our wedding website…Joe and Mallory first met on match.om but met in person right by Mallory’s apartment in Weehawken, NJ. With a panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson as their backdrop, Joe was admiring the view as Mallory walked towards him. They locked eyes into their first “jaw dropping” moment that would soon blossom into a loving relationship.
Fast forward to 8am on December 19th, Joe and Mallory went for a run–it was 30 degrees and freezing. Once the run was over and before Mallory could catch her breath, Joe got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She quickly realized they were standing in the exact spot where they first met, and with the Weehawken panoramic views behind them, she burst into a huge smile and said “YES!
What was your wedding inspiration? (think decor, overall theme and feel of the day, etc)
The very first item I purchased was my wedding gown and from there, the rest of the wedding planning began. With such a dramatic dress with the details and the train, I had to pick a venue to match. After seeing the Four Seasons which I thought was a perfect fit, my last stop was the Waldorf Astoria and I was in awe over the marble floors, dramatic details, and the signature clock! From there, I then picked my decor which was luckily a one stop shop as they provided not only the flowers but all of the decor elements (linens, pipe & drape, candles, etc). The icing on the cake was literally the cake as that was designed after the dress.
What was your favorite design element of your wedding?
Definitely my wedding gown and the reception room. For the groom, he would say his tuxedo and his fabulous shoes and the grounds of the hotel, specifically the first look locations.
Describe some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them.
As described above, the dress set the tone as the goal was to match the ceremony and reception to the dress. The dress was predominantly white & ivory but had hints of blush, flower details and swaorvksi crystals. With always keeping the dress in mind, I picked all of my vendors and what they can offer in complimenting my dress. Even down to my photographer and videographer, their style and way of capturing the moments was a must for capturing the details in an artistic, organic but also on purpose way. There is nothing coincidental about the photo and video talent, they are truly artists who capture the details so perfectly.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Of course everything, but if I had to say three moments, I would say for the details and drama would be the time we spent during the first look, then I would say our first “first” dance when it was just Joe and I with all of our vendors (that was freaking amazing), and then I would say photos with my family before the ceremony started.
Please describe your cake (if any):
The top tier was designed after the back of my dress, the two bottom tiers were designed after the boddess of my dress with the sugar cystals and flowers.

Any advice for those planning their wedding now?
Choose all of vendors as soon as possible, preferably a year + in advance, especially photo, video, decor & entertainment as they are the biggest impact on the big day. Food, hair/makeup and even the other details are just as important but not waiting until the last minute will help ease the stress.
What was your biggest surprise on your wedding day?
I wouldn’t say I was surprised but KV and KEJ definitely exceeded my expectations. From getting ready in my parents room to the first look was amazing, I really love and appreciate the clear creative direction KV gave us, and how they knew exactly what they wanted me to do and what photos they wanted to take. Also how easily and organically your team worked with KEJ, having the four of you by my side put me at so much ease.
What one moment will last with you both forever?
The very first dance because no one was there but our vendors and we LOVED THAT because even though we “know” all of you it still felt like we were alone because no one who really knew us was there. It was so special. Our second “first” dance was fun 🙂
Which moment are you the most excited to see in photos?
Everything!! But I would say specifically everything pre-wedding from getting ready to first looks. Even though the ceremony and reception were fabulous, those moments were really so special. But as far as the ceremony and reception go, I would say those spaces but without guests to really capture the details.
What song did you walk down the aisle to?
A whole new world from Aladdin
What song played for your first dance?
Bless this broken road, rascal flatts
What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Making more magical memories and being able to capture them through beautiful photography.
What did you like the most about working with KV Photography?
Everything!! I don’t know where to start- I would say first with your kindness as you two are probably two of the nicest people we have not only ever worked with but met! I would second, your creative eye for detail and photography talent is so amazing, for me working in fashion I feel like I am working with a vogue photographer, your shoots are fun, exciting, I LOVE your clear direction, and I love how you see the BIG picture.Talk about exceeding expectations 🙂 Anyone can take a photo, but only a few with true talent can be a photographer and you both have that gift.
